Stars prospect Roope Hintz had a strong showing in his first appearance with Finland's top national team, recording one goal and one assist in three games at the Channel One Cup last week.
Hintz scored in his first game at the tournament, tallying what turned out to be the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win over Czech Republic. Hintz also picked up a power-play assist in a 4-2 loss to Sweden.
Hintz, who centered Finland's third line in the tournament, was a plus-one in the three games and won 21 of 35 faceoffs (60 percent). Finland went 1-2-0 at the tournament and finished third out of four teams.
The 20-year-old Hintz, a second-round pick in 2015, has 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 18 games with HIFK in Finland's top league this season.
