The Texas Stars went 0-3-0 over the past week to push their losing streak to four games. The Stars hit the AHL's All-Star break with a 20-19-3 record and in seventh place in the Pacific Division. Forward Matej Stransky, who leads the Stars with 16 goals, represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Classic. Here's the latest on the top minor league affiliate of the Dallas Stars.
Tuesday, January 24: Manitoba 2, Texas 1
Travis Morin scored the lone goal, and Landon Bow stopped 23 shots in a 2-1 loss to Manitoba Tuesday at H-E-B Center. Dan DeSalvo scored twice on the power play for the Moose, and former Star Scott Glennie chipped in with two assists.
Friday, January 27: Bakersfield 6, Texas 3
The Stars led 2-1 in the first period on goals by Travis Morin and Matej Stransky, but Bakersfield scored the next five goals, including two late in the first, and went on to beat the Stars, 6-3, in Cedar Park Friday. Caleb Herbert also scored for the Stars. Landon Bow got the start in goal but was pulled after allowing three goals on 13 shots in the first period. Max Lagace played the rest of the way and stopped 14 of 16 shots.
Saturday, January 28: Bakersfield 4, Texas 2
The Stars outshot Bakersfield 46-17 but suffered their fourth straight loss, falling 4-2 to the Condors Saturday night at H-E-B Center.
"That was probably our best 60 minutes of the season. The guys deserved a better fate," Texas coach Derek Laxdal told media. "We might have given up only seven scoring chances the whole game. So what does it come down to? It comes down to goaltending. Our goaltending has to be better."
Landon Bow got the start in goal and allowed four goals on 17 shots. Denis Gurianov and Brandon DeFazio scored goals.
