Scouting report: Already committed to play for St. Cloud State University in 2018-19, the Fridley native now has another State of Hockey team watching over him. Joining the United States Hockey League after playing at Totino-Grace High School, Hentges is currently a member of the Tri-City Storm after being traded by the Des Moines Buccaneers earlier in the 2017-18 season.
In 23 USHL games, Hentges has scored eight goals en route to a total of 18 points. One of those goals was a game-winner, helping the Storm to a 2-1 OT win over the Youngstown Phantoms. In three seasons with Totino-Grace (2014-17), he totaled 103 points (46-57=103) and 69 penalty minutes.
Henkes was also named to the U.S. Junior Select Team for the World Junior A Challenge in 2017.
Brent Flahr, Wild senior vice president of hockey operations:"Hentges was unfortunately injured for a large part of the season but our scouts feel that he has the skill level needed to excel at higher levels."
