Scouting report:McBain is the son of former NHLer Andrew McBain, who played in 608 career NHL games. Ready to cement his own place in history, Jack McBain received the Ontario Junior Hockey League Top Prospect award in 2017-18 and was named an OJHL First Team All-Prospect after posting 58 points in 48 regular season games and nine points in four playoff games.
In international play, McBain represented Canada at the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, scoring five points in five games en route to Canada's gold medal win. He also represented his country in 2018 at the 2018 Under-18 World Championship, scoring three points in five games, as well as tying for the tournament lead in points at the 2017 World Junior A Challenge with six points in four games.
