The Minnesota Wild, in partnership with Red Baron, hosted the 8th Annual Girls Hockey Weekend on December 14 and 15.

On Saturday, December 14th, 175 girls, including 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U hockey players, participated in youth hockey clinics at Xcel Energy Center.

Among the on-ice instructors was Minnesota Hockey legend Natalie Darwitz.

      2024 Eighth-Annual Girls Hockey Weekend

      The 8th Annual Girls Hockey Weekend at Xcel Energy Center

      The celebration continued at the Minnesota Wild vs. Vegas Knights game on Sunday, December 15.

      Many of the girls who participated in the clinics on Saturday filled various roles at the game on Sunday, including flag bearer, bench buddies, fist bump tunnel, Zamboni rides. Members of the 10u & 12u combined clinics participated in a 2nd intermission shootout! Colette MacIver, who works in Recruitment & Retention for the Minneapolis Hockey Association (MHA), was the Community Hero of the Game. Natalie Darwitz and Krissy Wendell, made the "Let's Play Hockey!" call.
