The 6-foot-2, 208-pound native of Karlstad, Sweden, set career high in goals, game-winning goals (2), TOI/game (13:30), faceoffs won (247), faceoffs taken (540) and FO% (45.7) and ranked third on the team with 117 hits. He also recorded nine points (4-5=9), including two power-play goals and two game-winning goals in nine games with Iowa in 2018-19.
Eriksson Ek has recorded 37 points (16-21=37), 46 PIM and 274 hits in 148 career NHL games with Minnesota and 18 points (8-10=18) in 18 career contests with Iowa. He has also appeared in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Wild.
Eriksson Ek has participated in six international tournaments with Sweden. He tallied three points (1-2=3) and plus-five rating in 10 games to help Sweden win the gold medal at the 2017 IIHF World Championship and recorded nine points (6-3=9) in seven games serving as captain for Sweden at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.
