The 6-foot-3, 224-pound native of Buffalo, N.Y., led the team in hits (T-18th in the NHL) and ranked third in plus/minus rating. He also ranked second amongst team forwards in shorthanded time on ice (SHTOI). Foligno notched consecutive multi-point games for the first time in his career, Jan. 4-5 (3-1=4) and recorded a season-high seven hits five times. He was acquired by Minnesota with Tyler Ennis and a third-round selection (Jack McBain) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Jason Pominville, Marco Scandella and a fourth-round selection (Linus Cronholm) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft on June 30, 2017. Foligno was selected by Buffalo in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
