SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced that they are partnering with the Prairie Island Indian Community to celebrate Native American Heritage Day on Friday, November 24 when it hosts the Colorado Avalanche at 7:30 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the American Indian Family Center and the Minnesota Wild Foundation.

American Indian Family Center and Minnesota Wild Foundation partnership aims to support Minnesota Communities
In celebration of the Minnesota Wild's Native American Heritage game on Friday, the Wild Foundation is hosting its Native American Heritage Auction. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on Native American Heritage themed Wild jersey's signed by each individual player. In addition, a one-of-a-kind goalie mask made specifically for and autographed by Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, and designed by Cole Redhorse Taylor, a member of the Prairie Island Indian Community, will be up for auction.
The auction will launch at 3:00 p.m. on November 24 and will close at 9:00 p.m. on November 30. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Wild Foundation and the American Indian Family Center in St. Paul. To browse and bid text 2023NAH to 76278 or go to https://2023NAH.givesmart.com.
The Wild will showcase Native American Heritage Night through various in-game presentations and community initiatives:
- Tribal Council leaders and members of the Native American community will perform the "Let's Play Hockey!" announcement.
- A special Native American song and dance will be performed during the first intermission at gate four of Xcel Energy Center.
- The Wild is hosting a winter coat drive that will benefit the American Indian Family Center. New or gently used coats will be collected at Gates 1-5 from 5:15 until midway through the first period.
- The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a custom Native American Heritage Night t-shirt
- The Hockey Lodge at Xcel Energy Center will have Native American Heritage Night inspired retail items available for purchase, while supplies last.
- The Minnesota Wild Foundation will be selling Native American Heritage Night inspired autographed mystery pucks outside of Section 104, while supplies last
The Prairie Island Indian Community and Treasure Island Resort & Casino are also working this hockey season to support The Big Assist Program. For every assist made by Wild players during regular season games, Treasure Island Resort & Casino will donate $200 to the Wild Foundation to support diversity in hockey programming. The program will support removing any barriers associated with playing hockey by providing scholarships, equipment and access to opportunities to play to youth from diverse backgrounds. As of November 21, Minnesota has registered 96 assists in 17 games this season, raising $19,2000 for the Wild Foundation.
