Koivu surgery 2.8.19

SAINT PAUL --Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton announced captain Mikko Koivu underwent successful surgery Friday to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his right knee by Dr. Joel Boyd at TRIA Orthopaedic Center. A timeline for Koivu's return to play will be provided this summer.

Koivu suffered the injury Tuesday at Buffalo and will miss the remainder of this season.
Minnesota plays at the New Jersey Devils Saturday at 12 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.
