Iowa got back to its winning ways in a two-game set last week against Colorado, winning both contests. Iowa outlasted Colorado 5-3 in the first meeting between the two teams on Dec. 28. Dakota Mermis, Turner Ottenbreit, Damien Giroux (2) and Nick Swaney were the goal scorers for Iowa. Mermis (1-2=3) and Giroux (2-1=3) each recorded three points while Joseph Cramarossa (0-2=2) recorded two points.
Zane McIntyre stopped 15-of-18 shots faced.

In the series finale that took place on Dec. 30, Iowa completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory that saw Nic Petan score both goals for Iowa, one of which was a powerplay goal. Joe Hicketts (0-2=2) had two points in the win. Jesper Wallstedt stopped 34-of-35 shots faced.
Through 30 games, Iowa is currently in 5th place in the Central Division with a record of 13-13-3. Sammy Walker (12-12=24), Steven Fogarty (9-12=21) and Hicketts (2-18=21) lead Iowa in points.
Wallstedt holds a record of 6-7-1 with a SV% of .899 and a GAA of 3.11, while McIntyre is 7-6-1 with a .890 SV% and a GAA of 3.25.
