WINNIPEG -- With the NHL Trade Deadline come and gone, the Wild will embark on its sprint to the regular season finish line beginning Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place.
The Wild made two moves on deadline day,
acquiring forward Kevin Fiala
from the Nashville Predators in exchange for forward Mikael Granlund.
Minnesota also traded veteran forward Matt Hendricks to the Jets in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Minnesota also
signed veteran forward Eric Staal
to a two-year contract extension through the 2020-21 season. Staal is currently riding a three-game point streak, which coincides with the Wild's three-game winning streak.
Fiala is expected to slot into the Wild's lineup on Tuesday night. He has more goals in his career against Winnipeg (four) than he does against any other NHL opponent.
The Wild enters the game on Tuesday riding a three-game winning streak following a 2-1 overtime win over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday at Xcel Energy Center.
The victory snapped a six-game home winless streak for Minnesota, just in time for the Wild to head back to the road, where it will play five of its next six games.
In addition to Hendricks, the Jets were busy on Monday, acquiring centerman Kevin Hayes from the New York Rangers, in exchange for prospect Brendan Lemieux, a first-round pick in this summer's NHL Draft and a conditional fourth-round pick.
Hayes, a 6-foot-5 centerman, is expected to slot into Winnipeg's second line pivot position. He had 14 goals and 28 assists in 51 games with New York this season and is coming off a career-high 25 goals last season.
The Jets also acquired defenseman Nathan Beaulieu from the Buffalo Sabres and made a trio of minor-league moves to bolster their depth.
Winnipeg was in need of a spark. The Jets have won just three of their past 10 games and are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday. Losses in four of their past five overall, including consecutive defeats on home ice, have the Jets just one point clear of the Nashville Predators for the top spot in the Central Division entering the day on Monday, although the Jets have two games in hand.
Blake Wheeler leads Winnipeg with 60 assists and 72 points. Mark Scheifele has 30 goals and 68 points. Patrik Laine has 28 goals and Kyle Connor has 24 goals to go with 48 points.
Connor Hellebuyck is the likely starter in goal. He has 27-17-2 with a 2.98 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
