SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired defenseman John Klingberg from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Andrej Sustr, the rights to forward Nikita Nesterenko and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Anaheim retained 50% of Klingberg's salary.

Klingberg, 30 (8/14/92), collected 24 points (8-16=24), 30 penalty minutes (PIM), 49 hits and 65 blocked shots in 50 games with Anaheim this season. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound native of Gothenberg, Sweden, led Anaheim defensemen in goals and points. The right-shot blueliner has skated in 602 career NHL games and owns 398 points (79-319=398) across nine seasons with the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks. Klingberg was named All-Rookie First-Team in 2014-15 with Dallas after recording 40 points (11-29=40) across 65 games. He has also collected 35 points (7-28=35) in 59 career Stanley Cup Playoff matches. Dallas selected Klingberg in the fifth round (131 overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
