Minnesota Wild Signs Forward Connor Dewar to a Two-Year, One-Way Contract

SAINT PAUL, Minn. -Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Connor Dewar to a two-year, one-way, $1.6 million contract ($800,000 average annual value) that goes through the 2023-24 season.
Dewar, 23 (6/26/99), collected six points (2-4=6), 25 penalty minutes (PIM), 44 shots on goal, 48 hits and 22 blocked shots in 35 contests with Minnesota during the 2021-22 season. The 5-foot-10, 176-pound native of The Pas, Manitoba, made his NHL debut on Oct. 28 at SEA. He recorded his first career point (assist) on Jan. 6 at BOS and registered his first NHL goal (GWG) and multi-point game on Jan. 24 vs. MTL. The left-shot forward blocked a career-high five shots Feb. 8 at WPG to tie the franchise record for most blocked shots by a rookie forward (Eriksson Ek, 11/9/17). The rookie also made his NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs debut on May 12 in Game 6 at STL.

Dewar registered 17 points (8-9=17), a plus-9 rating, two shorthanded goals, 17 PIM and 72 shots on goal in 19 games with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2021-22 season. He recorded 59 points (26-33=59), a plus-25 rating, 52 PIM, five power-play goals, four shorthanded goals, two game-winning goals and 217 shots on goal in 103 career AHL games with Iowa (2019-22).
Dewar was selected by Minnesota in the third round (92nd overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
