ST. PAUL, MN --Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed restricted free-agent goaltender Steve Michalek(pronounced MIKE-ah-lick)to a one-year, two-way contract ($715,000/$70,000).

Michalek, 23 (8/6/93), posted a 13-14-1 record with a 2.63 GAA, .919 SV% and one shutout in 30 games with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2016-17. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound native of Hartford, Conn., has totaled a 20-19-3 record with a 2.63 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout in 44 games with Iowa during his first two seasons of professional hockey (2015-17). The former Harvard University goalie was originally selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
