Zach Parise, Zac Dalpe and Marco Scandella played in the first matchup between the teams but will not be available on Tuesday. That will put more of a premium on the balanced scoring the Wild have gotten from everyone in the lineup.
In a 4-0 win over Dallas on Saturday, the Wild got goals from three different lines, including the fourth line.
Every player on the roster has at least one point this season, and every forward has scored at least one goal.
"You'll need that in this league," said Wild captain Mikko Koivu. "For confidence, especially early in the year, the more you can have on the board, the better it is. The more guys feel good about themselves, the better it is for the whole team."
The Wild will have a couple of lineup questions heading into game day, however.
The team practiced Monday with just eight forwards and six defensemen, a situation that is not feasible against the Sabres. Chris Stewart, a former Sabre who did not practice Monday (illness), is expected back.
But Minnesota will need to call up three forwards from Iowa to fill out its lineup.
Two possibilities are Tyler Graovac and Christoph Bertschy, who were recalled before the game against the Stars on Saturday only to be reassigned after the game. Graovac scored his first NHL goal in the third period on Saturday while Bertschy dished out an assist for his first point in the League.
Buffalo will also be without forward Hudson Fasching, an Apple Valley native. Fasching was not with the team when it practiced in St. Paul Monday morning. The Sabres could make a roster move to call up a forward prior to the game.
The Wild will also be celebrating Military Appreciation Night.
Festivities include a ceremony to honor Purple Heart recipients during the second intermission and a mites game during the first intermission that will feature kids from families involved with the United Heroes League.
The Wild will also wear camo jerseys during warmups that will be auctioned at a later date. Each jerseys will be signed by the player wearing it; proceeds from the auction will benefit the United Heroes League and the Minnesota Wild Foundation.
