By The Numbers: Juraj Slafkovsky

MONTREAL -- It's official.

Juraj Slafkovsky will be joining the Canadiens as the first-overall pick in the 2022 Entry Draft. The exciting prospect has the type of potential that can make a significant impact on the team; the proof is in the numbers.
1 - Slafkovsky joins Rejean Houle, Guy Lafleur, Doug Wickenheiser and Michel Plasse in the Canadiens' first-overall club.
52 - As a 16-year-old, he scored 22 goals and 30 assists in 39 games while playing for HC TPS (Under-18, SM-sarja).
13 - The following season, Slafkovsky, 17, played in the Under-20 team. He scored eight goals and added five assists in 18 games.
18 - Slafkovsky produced over a point-per-game in the same league this season, with six goals and 12 assists in just 11 games.

11- He earned yet another promotion in 2021-22, playing with TPS' men's team (Liiga) at 18 years old, scoring five goals and five assists in 31 games.
7 - As has been the case throughout his career, he quickly improved his scoring rate. Not only did TPS win the league's silver medal, but Slafkovsky also produced two goals and seven assists in 18 games.
9 - He was named to Slovakia's World Championship team, where his talent shone particularly bright. He finished the eight-game tournament with three goals and six assists.

9 - He also played in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he scored three goals and six assists in five games, helping Slovakia win a silver medal in the process.
7- His play at the 2022 Olympic Games was eye-opening, as he led the entire tournament in scoring with seven goals in seven games, including two game-winning goals. Thanks to his impressive play, Slovakia earned a bronze medal.
