MONTREAL -- The Canadiens made a splash shortly after selecting winger Juraj Slafkovsky first overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Defenseman Alexander Romanov and the 98th overall pick were traded to the New York Islanders in exchange for the 13th overall pick.
The 13th and 66th overall picks were then dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for center Kirby Dach.
The 21-year-old has 59 points (19 goals, 40 assists) in 152 career NHL games with Chicago.
Dach was selected third overall in 2019.
The Canadiens still hold the 26th overall pick later tonight.
