MONTREAL - Which is faster, a speeding F1 racecar or a speeding NHL slapshot? Just ask Guenther Steiner, who now has experience with both.

The team principal of Haas F1 Team and star of Netflix's Formula 1: Drive to Survive series made a pit stop at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard on Wednesday while in town for the Canadian Grand Prix.

A former hockey goaltender while growing up in Northern Italy, the 58-year-old geared up as a Hab for the day to see if he's still got it.

"I mean, you don't catch every puck, but you still have a feeling for it. It makes me feel 35 years younger, at least, for 20 minutes," admitted Steiner, who once minded nets for HC Meran/o before going on to mind budgets, strategy, and technical development of motorsports giants worldwide. "It will be worse tomorrow morning, I'm sure about that. I will feel old tomorrow."

Potential aches aside, the dual Italian-American citizen looked the part on the ice, decked out in full team equipment - including a surprise pièce de résistance.

Captain Nick Suzuki presented Steiner with a custom airbrushed goalie mask featuring Canadiens and Haas F1 Team co-branding, as well as elements from the city of Montreal and the honorary Hab's personal life.

Of course, there's no better way to test out NHL pro stock than against actual NHL pros, and Suzuki, Kaiden Guhle, and Sam Montembeault were happy to oblige with a shootout alongside Steiner's daughter, Greta, Canadian Grand Prix president and CEO, Francois Dumontier, and mascots Youppi!, METAL!, and Vroum.

So, is a permanent move back to his first sport in the cards?

"You could see that I'm not a pro anymore on skates," added Steiner with a laugh. "But it's cool to do, and to have the opportunity to do it, so thanks a lot to the Montreal Canadiens for making it possible."

Note that no doors were smashed during Wednesday's visit.
