Hockey is for Everyone

Everyone means everyone. 

With that in mind, the Minnesota Wild is pleased promote Hockey is for Everyone, an initiative focused on promoting and creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all who cherish this great game. The State of Hockey welcomes fans, players, coaches and families from every community and proudly supports the following organizations as part of this effort. Each group will be honored during the Minnesota Wild season.

Native American Heritage Night

The Minnesota Wild will host its Native American Heritage game on Friday, November 25 when the Wild take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at 1pm. The game will feature a number of in-game features including custom designed Native American Heritage jerseys worn and signed by the team during pre-game warm ups. The auction will also feature themed locker room nameplates, hats and other unique items. Place your bids November 25th - December 5th via the Minnesota Wild Foundation Handbid Auction platform. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Wild Foundation and Wild and the youth programming provided by Dream of Wild Health whose mission is to restore health and well-being in the Native community by recovering knowledge of and access to healthy Indigenous foods, medicines and lifeways. Black History Celebration

Celebrate Black History Month on Saturday, February 15 at 4 p.m. when the team hosts the Buffalo Sabres. The organization will celebrate Black History Month throughout the game, including many in-game elements.

Pride Night

The Minnesota Wild will host its Pride Night on Tuesday, March 7 when it hosts the Calgary Flames at 7 p.m. The LGBTQ+ community will be highlighted throughout the game, and many of the in-game elements will incorporate the Pride theme.  

A special Pride Night ticket package is available that includes an exclusive Minnesota Wild Pride Night t-shirt. A portion of each ticket purchased through this special ticket package will support Twins Cities Pride.

Diversified Hockey

Minnesota Diversified Hockey enables athletes to participate with other skaters with similar interests and abilities in the disciplines of: Blind Hockey, Deaf/HOH Hockey, Special Hockey, Sled Hockey, and Warrior Hockey. Each of these programs incorporate elements that are unlike the typical sport of hockey, but at their core, they are designed to ensure hockey truly is for everyBODY by:

  • Providing adaptive equipment to allow individuals with physical disabilities the opportunity to play the sport. 
  • Modifying rules to allow individuals with intellectual disabilities the ability to participate with their peers.
  • Providing an environment where veterans can play the game they love while joining a supportive community
