The only change will be on defense with Mark Alt replacing David Warsofsky, Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said following the team's morning skate at Pepsi Center. Alt is expected to play with Mark Barberio on the club's third defensive pairing.
"A little bit bigger body, physical guy, right-handed shot, he's played well for us when he's been in, so he's going to get the nod tonight," Bednar said of Alt, who has appeared in six of the last seven games for the Avs.
The rest of Colorado's lineup will be the same as it used during Thursday night's contest at the San Jose Sharks.
Jonathan Bernier didn't take part in Avalanche morning skate, but Bednar confirmed that the goaltender would get the start against the Blues. It will be Bernier's fourth straight start in net following Semyon Varlamov's knee injury on March 30 versus the Chicago Blackhawks.
Colorado needs a regulation win over St. Louis to earn a berth into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blues just need one point to advance to the postseason.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup. All forward combinations and defensive pairings are subject to change.
