Player Spotlight: Gabriel Landeskog

Landeskog could be named to the Central Division roster for the 2019 NHL All-Star Game as part of the league's "Last Men In" ballot. One spot remains on each division's team and will be filled by a fan vote, which is open through 9:59 p.m. MT on Jan. 10. Landeskog shares the team lead with 25 goals this season, tied for fifth in the NHL and just one shy of matching his career high of 26 set during the 2013-14 campaign. He has already set a career high with seven game-winning goals, tied for the league lead, and has matched his personal best with eight power-play tallies.

Quotable

"It is not something I set out to do, but it has been in striking distance the last couple of weeks. I have been a bit cold so it took a little bit longer than I would have liked, but it is something I will be able to look back and take pride in. There have been some great defensemen that have come through here, Johnny Liles is one of them. He is a great guy too, so I will have to buy him dinner." - Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie after passing John-Michael Liles to become the all-time points leader among defensemen in franchise history
