Nathan MacKinnon Vegas Golden Knights 2019 October 25

The start time for the Colorado Avalanche's final round-robin game against the Vegas Golden Knights has been set for 1 p.m. MT, the NHL announced on Friday.

The Avalanche is 2-0-0 so far in round-robin play and will play the Golden Knights with the top seed for the Western Conference playoffs on the line. Vegas is also 2-0-0 after defeating the St. Louis Blues 6-4 on Thursday. The Avs and Knights are guaranteed to finish with the top two seeds in the West.

As part of the NHL's Return to Play Plan, the four teams that finished the regular season with the highest points percentage earned a bye into the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and would play each other in a round-robin format to determine the top four seeds. Clubs that finished the season ranked fifth through 12th in points percentage in each conference are playing a best-of-five series to earn a berth into the quarterfinals.

Colorado opened its qualifier with a 2-1 victory last Sunday against St. Louis and is coming off a 4-0 shutout of the Dallas Stars on Wednesday. Vegas beat Dallas 5-3 in its first round-robin contest on Monday.
