More positive news on Corey Crawford came out of practice on Monday. The Blackhawks goaltender continues to progress from his concussion and his return to full participation with the team gets closer with each passing day.
"Good last few days, good progress and he's getting closer to joining his teammates," said Head Coach Joel Quenneville.
The coach says the team will make sure their goalie is "more than ready" before he practices and the same before game action, as the Blackhawks continue to take things carefully.
As of Monday, Quenneville felt it'd be "stretching it" to predict Crawford will start opening night in Ottawa on October 4. However, it is likely he'll at least return to practice either by the end of this week or early next.
"Saturday or early next week is kind of the mindset, maybe," said Quenneville.
