EIGHT CRAZY NIGHT

Chicago scored a season-high eight goals in Wednesday evening's victory over Detroit, the first time the Blackhawks scored eight goals in a game since Feb. 15, 2020 in Calgary.
It was the first time they scored eight goals in a game against the Red Wings since Oct. 25, 1992 when the team's competed in the Norris Division. STROME ALONE

Strome notched his first career NHL hat trick and four-point game (3G, 1A) on Wednesday night against the Red Wings. He had recorded 11 career three-point efforts in the NHL with his last coming on March, 3, 2020 against Anaheim.
The Mississauga, Ontario native has nine points (4G, 5A) over his last eight games. Strome has 16 points (7G, 9A) in 30 games during the 2021-22 campaign, one off his total from last year when he skated in 40 games.
He also has won 56.3% or more of his faceoffs in nine-consecutive games and is winning a career-high 56.7% of his draws this year. His faceoff win percentage is 12th in the NHL (min. 250 faceoffs). Over his last seven games, Strome has won eight or more faceoffs in each contest and in five of those skates he has won 10 or more. He matched a career high with 14 faceoff wins on Saturday night against the Wild. The only other time he won 14 draws in a game was on Oct. 16, 2018 against Minnesota as a member of the Coyotes.

GOALAPALOOZA

Alex DeBrincat scored his 25th and 26th goals of the year on Wednesday in Detroit and he became the first Chicago skater to reach the 25-goal plateau in 43 games played or fewer since Patrick Sharp accomplished the feat during the 2010-11 campaign. DeBrincat is fourth in the league with 26 markers and his 10 power-play goals are third in the league this season. He is third in the NHL with 58 goals since the beginning of last season.
With two power-play goals on Jan. 4, he reached the 20- goal plateau in the fewest number of games of his NHL career (33 games). The previous quickest instance of him scoring 20 markers came last year when he recorded his 20th in the 36th game of the season. It is the fourth time in five seasons that he has registered 20 or more goals in a campaign.
