GAME RECAP

CHI: 0, CAR: 1

1st - 9:49 - Martin Necas (Jani Hakanpaa)-- SH

The Hurricanes opened the scoring off a collision as the Blackhawks were on the game's opening power play. Jani Hakanpaa cleared the puck out of Carolina's end and as Duncan Keith went to pick up the puck in the neutral zone, collided with the linesman inadvertently and tumbled to the ice. Martin Necas picked up the loose puck and went the other way solo, putting a backhander past Collin Delia for the 1-0 advantage.

3rd - 16:59 - Riley Stillman (Pius Suter)

After nearly two and a half periods without another goal, Riley Stillman notched his first NHL goal at an opportune time to tie the game, 1-1. Pius Suter's shot from the point was directed home by the defenseman cruising through the slot and past Petr Mrazek for the equalizer.
