Boston Marathon Team

The 128th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America took place on April 15th, 2024. Out of the thousands of runners who participated in the marathon, 11 runners ran for the Boston Bruins Foundation. All 11 runners successfully completed the marathon and worked hard to fundraise over $120,000 for the Boston Bruins Foundation. We are so grateful for and inspired by our team year in and year out!

Each year, we look for runners to represent us in the Boston Marathon and fundraise on our behalf. If you are interested in further information about how to run for us in an upcoming marathon, please email [email protected].

Pan-Mass Challenge Team

The Pan-Mass Challenge is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Always held the first weekend in August, the PMC raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research.

The 44th Annual Pan Mass Challenge took place in August 2024 and was the Boston Bruins Foundation's 18th year with a team. This year, we rode in support of Kieran, our PMC Pedal Partner, and his family. Thank you to our team members for their hard work, fundraising, and riding for an amazing cause! We were able to raise over $254,000 this year!

Boston Bruins Golf Tournament

The Boston Bruins Foundation hosted our 21st Annual Golf Tournament on September 12th, 2024. Current players, coaches, alumni, sponsors, and friends came together for a great day of golf and fundraising. We were also honored to once again have Special Olympics of Massachusetts at the tournament as well, driving and putting on the courses.

AJ Quetta Golf Tournament

The 4th Annual AJ's Army Golf Tournament at Kirkbrae Country Club took place on June 17th, 2024. The mission of AJ’s Army is to help provide the long term financial and emotional support to the Quetta Family, as AJ focuses on his recovery from a severe spinal cord injury sustained in 2021 while playing hockey for the Bishop Feehan High School (Attleboro, MA) varsity hockey team. All proceeds that are collected through golfing, purchasing raffle tickets, and participating in the silent and live auctions go to support AJ's recovery efforts through the Thomas E. Smith Foundation. For more information on the tournament, click HERE.

Jake Thibeault Golf Tournament

The third annual TBO14 Golf Tournament at Northern Spy Golf Course took place July 22nd, 2024. In September 2021, Jake suffered a spinal cord injury in a hockey tournament that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Since then, his motto has been “No Quit!” as he works tirelessly to get stronger and live life to the fullest. Participants will enjoy a beautiful day of golfing followed by food, a raffle, and silent and live auctions to raise funds for Jake and his spinal cord recovery. All funds raised benefit Jake, his family, and his future. To learn more about Jake’s story, click HERE.

Bowl With a Bruin

The 9th annual Bowl with a Bruin tournament took place on September 15th, 2024, at Wamesit Lanes in Tewksbury. Boston Bruins Alumni, sponsors, friends, and guests were able to reminisce and enjoy bowling matches. People could also participate in the raffle, silent auction, and live auctions. It was a great day of bowling and we were able to raise $100,000!

BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament

The BFit Heroes Cup is a weekend-long event designed to bring firefighters, police officers, EMS, and military members across the country together to raise money for multiple charities surrounding their professions and mental health. Almost 100 teams participated in 2023 for the opportunity to win additional money for the charity of their choice, raising over $500,000. Unfortunately, the 2024 tournament had to be cancelled due to rink equipment failures. We are already looking forward to next year, however, with the tournament being set for June 6-8, 2025. For further information and to register a team, click HERE.

BFit Challenge

The 8th Annual BFit Challenge powered by National Grid took place on January 28th, 2024. We had a record number of police, military, firefighters, EMS, and community members show up to complete a unique course and stair climb at TD Garden. Together, supporters raised over $875,000 for 14 different first responder and military charities this year. To date, the BFit Challenge has raised over $3.5 million for first responder charities. Festival of Trees

Each year, the wives and girlfriends of our Bruins players decorate small trees with their player’s favorite things. These trees have donned signed jerseys, gift cards, Bruins ornaments, purses, colognes, and more. Last year, the Festival of Trees raised $26,584 to furnish 4 apartments at St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children. The wives and girlfriends, and the Foundation, assembled all this furniture and decorated the apartments. Stay tuned for our next Festival of Trees this December.

Pucks & Paddles

On November 20th, 2024, The Boston Bruins Foundation, David Pastrnak, and 98.5 The Sports Hub teamed up for the 5th Annual Pucks and Paddles presented by Connection at Citizens House of Blues Boston. VIP attendees enjoyed a pre-event meet & greet with members of the team, followed by a ceremonial ping pong game and tournament involving players from the active Bruins roster, Special Olympics of MA athletes, and 98.5 The Sports Hub on-air talent. Over $110,000 was raised and all proceeds benefitted the Boston Bruins Foundation and Special Olympics of MA.
