Patrice's Pals
During his tenure as a Boston Bruin, center Patrice Bergeron has distinguished himself as a leader and a role model to coaches, teammates and the entire Boston community. Patrice's play on the ice as well as his endless participation in local community events has truly revealed Bergeron as an example to be followed by the entire New England pro sports community.
Throughout his career, Patrice has been actively involved in numerous charitable activities, but most impressive is the development of the Patrice's Pals program which brings patients from local hospitals and other children's organizations to the TD Garden to experience a Bruins home game where these deserving children are able to feel the excitement of a professional hockey game as VIP guests.
Not only do the children watch the game in the official Patrice's Pals luxury suite, which includes dinner, beverages and one of the best seats in the entire Garden, but they also receive a personalized video recognition on the Garden Hubvision Scoreboard.
To make this experience even more memorable, each child receives an individual goodie bag that Boston Bruins memorabilia. To boot, Patrice personally meets each participant in the Patrice's Pals program, signing autographs and taking pictures.
To date, children from Children's Hospital, Boston, the Cam Neely Foundation, Franciscan Hospital for Children, Joslin Diabetes Center, Massachusetts General Hospital for Children, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Big Brother and Big Sister of Massachusetts Bay, Oak Square YMCA, Shriners Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, among others, have all become Patrice's Pals.
