BostonBruins.com - Patrice Bergeron is a four-time Selke Trophy winner and a Stanley Cup champion. He has played nearly 1,100 games during his 16-year NHL career with the Bruins. He puts his heart and soul into every shift, both on the ice and in the gym.
That desire to be at his best in everything he does crosses over into his efforts away from the rink.

For years, Bergeron has hosted patients from local hospitals for home games at TD Garden as part of his Patrice's Pals program. And for nearly a decade, he has spearheaded the team's annual Halloween hospital visit and Holiday Toy Shopping event.
While it would have been easy to take a pass on such events this year in the midst of a pandemic, Bergeron opted to continue the traditons - and make sure they were conducted with just as much passion and enthusiasm. That was made clear on Thursday afternoon.
Bergeron rounded up some of his teammates for the Bruins' 10th Annual Halloween Hospital visit - this time held through Zoom - and showed off an impeccable Elmo impression, as the players donned Sesame Street costumes.
"I practiced with my youngest [son, Noah]," Bergeron said of his Elmo voice. "It's his favorite character. I put on the costume [on Wednesday] night and he was loving it. Try to bring a smile."

B's talk Halloween costumes with virtual visitors

Normally, the Bruins would be heading to a Boston hospital to see the young patients' smiles in person, but the COVID-19 crisis made that impossible. Bergeron was thrilled to keep the tradition going virtually.
"It was great to see the guys wanted to participate," said Bergeron. "We all know how important it is to reach out. It's pretty difficult in times likes these where everything needs to be remote or virtual. I thought this idea worked out perfectly. I'm really happy with how we were able to interact with the kids even though we were far away. That was fun. Had a great time."
Tuukka Rask (Oscar the Grouch) and Brandon Carlo (Cookie Monster) put forth some pretty good impressions, too, while Charlie Coyle (Ernie) sang a few lines with his rubber ducky. John Moore (The Count), Sean Kuraly (Bert), Jeremy Lauzon (Super Grover), and Anders Bjork (Abby Cadabby) also participated, recounting their favorite costumes from childhood and their go-to candy choices.
Bjork was selected by the kids as having the best costume, with Bergeron finishing a close second.
