BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, March 1, that the team has acquired forward Drew Stafford from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
Stafford, 31, who is in his 11th NHL season in 2016-17, has appeared in 40 games with Winnipeg this season, recording four goals and nine assists for 13 points with 12 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound forward has skated in 707 career NHL games, compiling 179 goals and 213 assists for 392 points with 375 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 24 postseason games in his career, posting four goals and five assists for nine points.

The winger played his first nine seasons (2006-15) with Buffalo, where he established career highs in goals (31) and points (52) in just 62 games in 2010-11. In 2014-15, Stafford tallied nine goals and 15 assists in 50 games with Buffalo before being acquired by Winnipeg, where he notched nine goals and 10 assists over the final 26 games of the season.
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native was originally selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round (13th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
