BOSTON - The Boston Bruins and the Boston Bruins Foundation announced today that they have partnered with the Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament to present the BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament, which will take place in April 2018.

"The Boston Bruins Foundation is proud to partner with the Heroes Cup to help grow this initiative involving first responders all over country. We look forward to expanding this event and embrace all the charitable events that this tournament supports," said Bob Sweeney, Executive Director of the Boston Bruins Foundation.
The first annual Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament was held in April 2017 and 52 teams made up of over 850 first responders participated. This year, the goal is to increase the size of the tournament giving more First Responders a chance to play and increase fundraising. With the increase in participation this year, the BFit Heroes Cup will be one of the largest First Responder tournaments in the country.
"The Heroes Cup Board could not be happier about partnering with the Boston Bruins Foundation for the upcoming 2018 tournament. When it comes to hockey in New England there is no bigger name then the Bruins. They bring a large fan base and sponsorship to the tournament that will help promote the mission of the Heroes Cup. The Mission of the Heroes Cup is to promote health and fitness to our first responders through hockey, while raising awareness and fund for many different charities. We bring teams together from around the world to compete. With the Bruins as our partner we will be able to offer a truly first-class tournament which is what our participants really deserve for the work they do off the ice," said Mike Matros, President and founder of Hero's Cup Hockey Inc.
