BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, December 2, that the team has assigned forward Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson to the Providence Bruins.
Forsbacka Karlsson, 22, has scored two goals in nine games with Boston this season. He has also appeared in nine games with Providence this season, tallying one goal and three assists for four points.
In his first professional season with Providence in 2017-18, the 6-foot-1, 184-pound center ranked eighth on the team in scoring with 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points in 58 appearances. He also made his NHL debut on April 8, 2017 against the Washington Capitals.
The Stockholm, Sweden native was selected by the Bruins in the second round (45th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
