BOSTON - The Boston Bruins and Boston Bruins Foundation has announced that fans can enter a raffle for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind Bobby Orr "The Goal" replica statue.
All proceeds from this raffle will benefit organizations and initiatives that assist first responders, health care providers and frontline workers that fight the COVID-19 battle daily in their communities. The Boston Bruins Foundation has also committed more than $400,000 to these organizations and initiatives to date.
"Thank you to all the first responders, health care providers and frontline workers that contribute to the daily battle against COVID-19," said Orr.
"You are all the true heroes. Your dedication and commitment to the people within your communities is remarkable and we appreciate each and every one of you."
In addition to the statue, Bobby Orr will also be placing a special Mother's Day phone call to someone of the winner's choosing on May 10.
The Bruins commissioned the large statue of Bobby in 2010 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of "The Goal" scored by Orr winning the Stanley Cup Final in 1970 against the St. Louis Blues. The statue was designed and completed by Harry Weber in the same year he was named the Sports Artist of the Year by the National Sports Academy.
