MONTREAL - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, July 8, that the team has made six selections in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft

Matthew Poitras, C, CAN
The Bruins selected forward Matthew Poitras in the second round (54th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Poitras, 18, appeared in 68 games for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League in 2021-22, recording 21 goals and 29 assists for 50 points in 68 games. The 5-foot-11, 176-pound forward previously played for the Whitby Wildcats of the ETAHL, serving as the captain of the U16 team in the 2019-20 season where he tallied 26 goals and 42 assists for 68 points in 36 games.
Cole Spicer, C, USA
The Bruins selected forward Cole Spicer in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Spicer, 18, appeared in 58 games for the U.S. National Team Development Program U18 team during the 2021-22 season, recording 20 goals and 19 assists for 39 points. The Grand Forks, North Dakota native also appeared in 26 games for the USNTDP Juniors, recording 10 goals and 6 assists for 16 points.
The 5-foot-10, 176-pound center played six games for Team USA at the 2022 World Junior Championship, recording three goals and two assists for five points and a plus-12 rating.
Dans Locmelis, C, LAT
The Bruins selected forward Dans Locmelis in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Locmelis, 18, appeared in 44 games for Lulea HF J20 of the J20 Swedish Hockey League, tallying 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 points and a plus-16 rating. The Jelgava, Latvia native also appeared in two games for Lulea HF in the SHL.
The 6-foot, 170-pound center also represented Latvia at the 2021 World Junior Championships, recording one goal in five games.
Frederic Brunet, D, CAN
The Bruins selected defenseman Frederic Brunet in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Brunet, 18, spent the 2021-22 season with Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL, recording 12 goals and 34 assists for 46 points in 63 games. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman also appeared in nine playoff games, adding three assists and 4 PIM.
Reid Dyck, G, CAN
The Bruins selected goaltender Reid Dyck in the 6th round (183rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Dyck, 18, spent the 2021-22 season with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL, posting a .884 save percentage, a 4.26 goals against average and a 6-12-1 record in 23 games. The 6-foot-4, 194-pound goalie also represented Canada in 2021, appearing in 3 games at the U18 World Junior Classic.
Jackson Edward, D, CAN
The Bruins selected defenseman Jackson Edward in the 7th round (200th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry draft.
Jackson, 18, spent the 2021-22 season with the London Knights of the OHL, recording six assists in 54 games. The 6-foot-2, 194 pound defenseman previously played for the York Simcoe Express U16 AAA team in the ETAHL, recording 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 33 games.
