BOSTON -Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, January 5, that the team has placed forward Jake DeBrusk on long-term injured reserve and recalled forward Chris Wagnerfrom Providence.

DeBrusk suffered hand and lower-body injuries in the team's 2-1 win against the Penguins in the 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park on January 2. The expected recovery time for his injuries is approximately four weeks.
DeBrusk, 26, ranks second on the team with 16 goals while adding 14 assists for 30 points in 36 games with the Bruins this season. The 6-foot, 197-pound forward has appeared in 357 career NHL games, all with Boston, totaling 108 goals and 98 assists for 206 points. The Edmonton, Alberta native was originally selected by the Bruins in the first round (14th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Wagner, 31, has played in 27 games for the Providence Bruins this season, scoring nine goals and two assists for 11 points. The 6-foot, 195-pound forward has appeared in 359 career NHL games, playing 185 for Boston, totaling 37 goals and 26 assists for 63 points. The Walpole, Massachusetts native was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the fifth round (122nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
