BOSTON, MA -Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, December 15, that the team has recalled forward Anton Blidh from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL). Blidh joined the Bruins on Thursday and is eligible to play in the team's game against Anaheim at 7 p.m. Sweeney also announced that the team has assigned forward Danton Heinen to Providence.

Blidh is in his second full professional season with the Bruins organization in 2016-17 and has skated in four games with Boston, recording his first NHL point with an assist at Washington on December 7. He has also appeared in 21 games with Providence, producing six goals and four assists for 10 points with 22 penalty minutes and a plus-eight rating. The 21-year-old forward skated in 65 games with Providence in 2015-16, compiling 10 goals and four assists for 14 points with 48 penalty minutes.
Prior to signing with the Bruins, Blidh played two seasons (2013-15) with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League, totaling five goals and five assists for 10 points in 72 games. The 6-foot, 201-pound left wing also skated in 19 playoff games with Frolunda, recording two goals and two assists for four points.
The MoInlycke, Sweden native was originally selected by the Bruins in the sixth round (180th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Heinen, who is in his first professional season with the Bruins organization in 2016-17, has skated in eight games with Boston. He has also averaged a point per game this season with Providence, with seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 13 AHL games.
The 21-year-old forward finished up his sophomore season at the University of Denver in 2015-16, earning first-team All-NCHC honors after recording 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points with a plus-19 rating in 41 games. He also led the team to an NCAA Tournament berth for the second straight season, helping the Pioneers advance to the 2016 Frozen Four. As a freshman in 2014-15, Heinen earned NCHC Rookie of the Year honors after winning the conference's overall scoring title with 16 goals and 29 assists for 45 points in 40 games.
The Langley, British Columbia native was originally selected by the Bruins in the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
