Bruins Recall Dan Vladar On Emergency Basis

BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, November 10, that the team has recalled goaltender Dan Vladar from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis.
Vladar, 21, has compiled a 1-3-0 record with a 2.81 goals against average and .899 save percentage in six appearances with Providence this season.
In 2017-18, Vladar split time between the Providence Bruins (AHL) and Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL). He compiled a 2-2-0 record with a 2.23 goals against average and .924 save percentage in four appearances with Providence, while earning a 17-18-1 record with a 2.96 goals against average and .911 save percentage in 41 appearances with Atlanta. In his first professional season in 2016-17, Vladar also split time between Providence and Atlanta. He recorded a 4-0-1 record with a 2.62 goals against average and .921 save percentage in eight games with Providence, while posting a 5-9-1 record with a 3.89 goals against average and .887 save percentage in 18 games with Atlanta.

Prior to signing his entry-level contract with Boston, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound goaltender made 30 appearances with the Chicago Steel (USHL) during the 2015-16 season. He compiled a 12-12-4 record, a 2.31 goals against average (fifth in the USHL), a .920 save percentage (fifth in the USHL) and three shutouts in 30 games. Vladar was awarded CCM/USHL Goaltender of the Week honors on two occasions during the 2015-16 season, on November 28, 2015 and March 12, 2016.
Vladar previously played for HC Klando (Czech U20) prior to being selected by the Chicago Steel in the USHL Phase II Draft in the first round, seventh overall. With HC Klando, he played 29 games with a 2.78 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. He represented the Czech Republic at the most recent 2016 World Junior Championship in Helsinki.
The Prague, Czech Republic native was originally selected by the Bruins in the third round (75th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
