BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, July 7, that the team has signed forwards Cameron Hughes and Joona Koppanen each to one-year, two-way contract extensions.

Hughes and Koppanen have signed extensions through the 2021-22 season with an annual NHL cap hit of $750,000.
Hughes, 24, has produced five goals and 16 assists for 21 points in 25 games with the Providence Bruins this season. The 5-foot-11, 181-pound forward played one game with Boston during the 2020-21 season on May 11 against the Washington Capitals.
Through four seasons with the Providence Bruins, Hughes has skated in 135 games, compiling 24 goals, 44 assists and 68 points. The Edmonton, AB native was drafted 165th overall in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Koppanen, 23, finished the 2020-21 Providence Bruins season with three goals and three assists for six points through 21 games.
In four seasons with the Providence Bruins, the 6-foot-6, 205-pound forward has totaled 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points through 119 games. The Tampere, Finland native was selected by Boston in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
