Foligno, who signed with the Bruins prior to the 2021-22 season, appeared in his 1,000th game on Tuesday, March 15 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The 6-foot, 210-pound forward was drafted in the 1st round, (28th overall) by the Ottawa Senators in the 2006 NHL entry draft. Foligno played five seasons for the Senators, scoring 61 goals and 87 assists for 148 points in 351 games.
On July 1, 2012, Foligno was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he would spend the next nine seasons. In May 2015, Foligno was named the 6th captain in Columbus Blue Jackets history, and he served as the captain for each of the next five seasons. In 599 games with the Blue Jackets, Foligno recorded 142 goals and 192 assists for 334 points. Foligno ranks in the top-four all-time in Blue Jackets history for games played (3rd), goals (4th), assists (3rd) and points (3rd).
In 999 career games, Foligno has recorded 205 goals and 292 assists for 497 points.
