BOSTON – The Boston Bruins will host the finals of the annual TD Bank Mini 1-on-1 tournament at TD Garden on Friday, November 17. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Mini 1-on-1, a youth hockey program in collaboration with TD Bank, Massachusetts Hockey and the Boston Bruins.

Mini teams consist of four players (one goalie and three skaters) representing a New England youth hockey organization at the Girls U10, Girls U12, Youth U10 and Youth U12 levels. Teams will compete in a three-minute cross-ice game with rules in accordance with USA Hockey regulations. Winners of the Girls and Youth U10 divisions will win a trip to February's NHL All-Star Game in Toronto. The Girls and Youth U12 winners will receive tickets to a Bruins game in a private suite.

Sheryl McQuade, Regional President of New England Metro, TD Bank, shared her excitement for the tournament finals as it enters its 50th year.

"TD Bank is thrilled to support the passion, dedication and drive of our local youth athletes as we come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this wonderful tradition with the Bruins and Massachusetts hockey," McQuade said. "Like TD, hockey is proudly engrained in our New England community, and we could not be happier to support the next generation of players."

The Mini 1-on-1 competition began in 1973. After a brief hiatus, the program was brought back in 2007 in partnership with TD Bank.

“Mini 1-on-1 was created to showcase the talent of youth hockey throughout New England,” said Ron DeGregorio, founder of Mini 1-on-1. “I’m grateful for the Bruins, USA Hockey and TD Bank and their efforts in ensuring the ongoing success of the program.”

Past participants include NHL alumni such as Bob Sweeney, Tom Barasso, Tony Amonte, Garth Snow and Oliver Wahlstrom.

“We are proud to partner with TD Bank to provide this unique opportunity for young players to skate at TD Garden, said Bob Sweeney, President of the Boston Bruins Foundation and Bruins alum. “As a participant in the inaugural year of Mini 1-on-1, it’s impressive to see the growth and evolution of the program since 1973.”

The Mini 1-on-1 finals will be taped and featured on NESN during Bruins broadcasts throughout the 2023-24 season.
