Chara Teams Up With New Balance & Soles4Souls to Collect and Donate Shoes

BOSTON -The Boston Bruins announced today, March 5, that Captain Zdeno Chara has teamed up with New Balance and Soles4Souls to collect and donate shoes to those in need. Every pair of shoes donated will benefit underserved communities in Boston and Slovakia. The shoes donated will go to Soles4Souls. Chara has personally donated $7,500 worth of New Balance product to Soles4Souls.

Fans can bring new or used shoes to New Balance stores in Boston from now until Sunday, March 10, or to Warrior Ice Arena until March 31. Fans who donate shoes at the New Balance Headquarters store and Boylston Street store will receive a 20% off their same-day purchase. Fans can also make monetary donations, find shoe donation drop-off locations and instructions to use Zappos for Good to send in shoe donations

On Wednesday, March 6, Chara will be at the New Balance Headquarters store (140 Guest Street, Brighton, MA) from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. to encourage fans to donate.
The Bruins will host an in-game shoe drive on Saturday, March 9 at TD Garden. Fans can drop off new and used pairs of shoes at turnstiles and at the "In the Community" table located outside Loge 4 across from Guest Services on the concourse.
