Table Talk Pies and Hockey Cares Inc. provided the pies for this year's delivery, while McAvoy partnered with Operation Hat Trick and '47 for his winter hat donation to the local shelters.
Operation Hat Trick merchandise can be purchased in the ProShop, powered by '47, and online at BostonProShop.com, with proceeds from those sales providing financial assistance to support the recovery of wounded service members and veterans, and fill gaps in care that are not covered by other programs or agencies.
"We're grateful to have everyone here, between Representative Aaron Michlewitz and the Mayor, Senator Ed Markey- but Charlie, it was really lovely to have him here," said Lyndia Downie, President and Executive Director of Pine Street Inn. "He did a great job on the turkey. He brought some pies and some Bruins hats, which will be really a big hit, I can tell you now. We really loved to have him here, especially after last night."
This year marks the 13th consecutive season that a Bruins player has donated and delivered pies on Thanksgiving. The tradition initially started with Aaron Ward donating turkeys in 2008 and has since been carried on by former Bruins captain Zdeno Chara(2018-2020), Matt Beleskey(2015-17), Gregory Campbell(2010-14), and Dennis Wideman (2009).
