BOSTON - The National Hockey League announced today, February 8, that Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak and respiratory therapist Amy Ginter have been named the NHL's first star of the week for the week ending February 7.

Throughout the 2020-21 season the NHL is celebrating the remarkable efforts of the off-ice stars who make it possible for us to play our games amid a pandemic by honoring frontline healthcare heroes from the regions represented by the League's weekly and monthly "Stars."
Ginter has worked as a respiratory therapist for 13 years at Beth Israel Lahey Health. Her responsibility is the patient's airway, initiating and manage ventilators (life support) as well as other means of ventilatory support. COVID-19 has presented significant challenges that she has never witnessed before, however she is proud of her profession and feel blessed to be a part of such an integral team.
Pastrnak led the league with five goals through three games this week, while also ranking first in power play goals and power play points with two goals and three total points.
The 24-year-old winger scored a hat trick in the Bruins' come-from-behind victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on February 3, and recorded the primary assist on the overtime game-winner scored by Patrice Bergeron. The hat trick was the 9th of his career in 393 career regular season games, tying Bobby Orr for fourth most in Bruins history and placing him behind only Phil Esposito (26 in 625 GP), Cam Neely (14 in 525 GP) and Johnny Bucyk (12 in 1,436 GP). Since entering the league in 2014-15, his nine hat tricks rank second behind only Alex Ovechkin (14).
On Monday, February 1, Pastrnak scored two goals as the Bruins overcame a three-goal deficit to beat the Capitals 5-3. On Friday, February 5, Pastrnak recorded an assist on the Bruins third period goal to tie the game in a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Through four games this season, Pastrnak has five goals and three assists for eight points. The Havirov, Czech Republic native ranks 3rd on the Bruins in goals and 6th in points. He is tied for the league lead with Connor McDavid in points per game (2.00), and has recorded a point in each of the four games he has appeared in this season.
