BostonBruins.com- The Boston Bruins selected Saint John Sea Dogs forward Cédric Paré with the 173rd pick on Saturday afternoon at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft in Chicago.
"It was awesome," Paré said from the draft in Chicago. "My family was there. My Mom, my brother, my grandparents. I was surprised a little bit, yeah. It's nice. I don't have words, I'm just excited."
The Quebec native, who describes himself as a two-way center that is good at the faceoff dot, is somewhat familiar with Boston, as he visited the city as a child and took in a Red Sox game at Fenway Park.
"I don't know that much about the Bruins, but I know it's a good organization and I'm very proud," he said. "I went to Boston when I was younger and I really liked the city."
