BostonBruins.com - The Boston Bruins selected forward Quinn Olson with the 92nd pick (third round) on Saturday afternoon at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver.
"I was in my summer school class," Olson said of when he got the call. "I was just watching it on my phone, and next thing you know I was scrolling through and saw my name pop up. Then I got a call from my agent and a player management guy in Boston...just knowing that I've trained as hard as I have and now that I know it's starting to pay off. It's been good.

Miscellaneous: Olson spent the past two seasons with the Okotoks Oilers (AJHL). In 2018-19, the 18-year-old produced 20 goals and 46 assists for 66 points in 54 games. In the team's postseason run, he scored five goals and notched 10 assists for 15 points in 13 games. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward tallied 14 goals and 39 assists for 53 points in 59 games during the 2017-18 season. During the playoffs, Olson recorded 10 points (goal, nine assists) in 15 games. In 2016-17, the Calgary, Alberta native skated in 30 games for Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL), accumulating 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points.
Olson is committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for the 2020-21 season.
"I think the strengths are my competitiveness," said Olson, who likened his game to Tampa Bay's Brayden Point. "I think I work hard in the corners. My hockey IQ, I make good plays and just try and finish on my opportunities as much as I can, and I just think I'm a 200-foot player as well."
