Marchand paces the Bruins with 21 goals and 50 points this season and is part of what many believe to be the best line in the National Hockey League. Linemates Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak have 20 goals apiece, making the Bruins one of two teams (Dallas) with three 20-goal scorers this season.
"They're phenomenal players, they make it so easy out there," Marchand. "I give them the puck and I get to coast around and they do all the work. It's a lot of fun playing with them and watching what they can do.
"I think playing with great players and great teams, I've been given opportunities to succeed. I feel very fortunate."
The 29-year-old, who is fresh off two straight 35-plus goal campaigns, will take part in the Shooting Accuracy Competition on Saturday night. This year, the competition has been altered with an extra target added and the traditional Styrofoam markers traded in for five lit-up LED targets.
Marchand will be joined at the event by Brian Boyle (New Jersey), Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg), James Neal (Vegas), Brock Boeser (Vancouver), Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles), Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh), and hometown hero Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay).
"That's what I was hoping for…you hope for the best, but they added an extra target this year, five targets," said Marchand. "So I'll probably hit one target every five shots. I'll need about 25 pucks."
All-Star Weekend also provides the chance to catch up with players from around the league, as Marchand did on Saturday morning when chatted with the likes of Brent Burns, P.K. Subban, Claude Giroux, Tyler Seguin and Auston Matthews during breaks at All-Star Media Day.
"A lot of guys obviously have successful years at different times and it's great to see them rewarded for that," said Marchand. "I also think it speaks to team success. It's always great to see the different guys and have their talents showcased.
"You look around the room and there's some phenomenal players that are very talented and it's what they thrive in."
