Need to Know: 2019 All-Star Weekend

BOSTON - As many of the Bruins enjoy some much-deserved rest and relaxation at various (sunny and tropical) destinations across North America during the team's nine-day break, David Pastrnak is ready to get back on the ice as he represents the Black & Gold at this weekend's NHL All-Star Game at SAP Center in San Jose.
The 22-year-old will be making his first career All-Star appearance after leading the Bruins with 56 points and 27 goals through 49 games this season. Pastrnak is tied for ninth in the NHL in goals and is 18th in scoring.

"I'm having a good season, thanks to my linemates and teammates," said Pastrnak, who has teamed up with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand to once again form one of the NHL's top trios.
"Just gonna enjoy it and focus on the season…trying to stay humble, but at the same time it's fun and my family is really happy and proud. That makes it a little bit more enjoyable that they're really happy about it and they recognize that."
Pastrnak becomes the seventh active member of the Bruins to be named an All-Star in their careers, joining David Backes (2011), Bergeron (2015, 2016), Zdeno Chara (2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012), Jaroslav Halak (2015), Marchand (2017, 2018), and Tuukka Rask (2017).
"Happy for him, proud of him. He's certainly earned it," said Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy. "Wasn't like it was just a, 'Hey, we had to pick someone from Boston.' He was definitely in the mix the whole time…again, well deserved. Hopefully it's one of many for him."

3 | On Oct. 13, David Pastrnak became the third-fastest Bruin to score 100 NHL goals, reaching that milestone in his 259th career game (Barry Pederson, 187; Dit Clapper, 247). He was also the third-fastest Czech player to reach that mark, behind Petr Klima (231) and Jaromir Jagr (245).
11 |Pastrnak scored 11 goals in October, which was the third-highest October goal total in Bruins history. Phil Esposito holds the team record with 14 in 1973-74, while Charlie Simmer scored 12 in 1985-86.
28 |Pastrnak scored his 20th in his 28th game this season, which is the fastest 20 goals by a Bruin since Cam Neely scored his 20th in his 19th game in 1993-94.
