BOSTON - Four days removed from the end of their swing through California, the Bruins (32-4-4) return to TD Garden on Thursday night to host the Seattle Kraken, while aiming to extend their point streak to 15 games (11-0-4) as they hit the midpoint of the 2022-23 campaign. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the 7 p.m. ET puck drop on NESN and 98.5 The Sports Hub:

Koppanen to Debut

The Bruins' fourth line will have a different look as Joona Koppanen makes his NHL debut in the middle of Nick Foligno and Tomas Nosek. The 24-year-old has played 215 games for Providence (32 goals, 77 points) over the last six seasons after being drafted by the Bruins in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
"Just go out and enjoy yourself," Montgomery said when asked what his message was to the Finland native. "He's earned it. He's done a great job down in Providence. You've earned the right to be here. It's your first game in the NHL. Enjoy every second of it."
Montgomery added that part of the reason Koppanen got the call upon the B's return from California - and Chris Wagner was assigned to Providence - was his strong faceoff abilities, particularly as a left shot, an important need with Nosek still unable to take draws as he recovers from an upper-body injury while remaining in the lineup.
"One, he's a really tough player," Montgomery said of why Nosek has continued to dress despite the ailment. "And he's been a huge part of our success. He builds our game really well from our goal line right through to their goal line. We think he's invaluable so that's why…he's at no risk at getting further injured so there's no worry there."

Opposing View

The Kraken (24-12-4) - in the midst of a seven-game, 13-day road trip - have won six consecutive games to start the month of January, including back-to-back victories over Montreal (4-0) and Buffalo (4-3) on Monday and Tuesday.
Seattle, now in its second NHL season, ranks third in the league in goals per game (3.68) behind Buffalo (3.87) and the Bruins (3.85), though they sit in the middle of the pack (17th) in goals allowed per game (3.10).
"Really good hockey team," said Montgomery. "Really similar to Toronto, really similar to us. They reload, they are working as five guys really hard, they forecheck well, they defend well, they're a zone defense, they break pucks out well. They're doing a lot of really good [things].
"They're the No. 1 5-on-5 scoring team in the league. That shows they have four lines that can go. The defensemen are No. 1 in the league in scoring. We've got a great challenge ahead of us tonight with them."
The Kraken are paced by Andre Burakovsky who is the club's top scorer with 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists) in 40 games. Jared McCann leads the Kraken with 19 goals in 37 games. Former Bruins forward Ryan Donato has eight goals and 13 points in 33 games.
Rookie Matty Beniers (he played just 10 games last season), meanwhile, has burst onto the scene this season and is second on the club in points (34) and goals (16). The Hingham, Mass., native also leads all rookies in both of those categories.
"He's a really good hockey player," said Montgomery. "He's as good defensively as he's shown offensively. He might even be better defensively. His reads in the D-zone, trakcing, and then on the forecheck are high end. I don't want to compare him to Bergy, but you see some of those qualities the way he plays without the puck."
Martin Jones has carried the load between the pipes with a 19-5-3 record, 2.78 goals against average, and .894 save percentage.
