BOSTON - The NHL announced today, March 6, that defenseman Dmitry Orlovhas been named the NHL's First Star of the Week for the week ending on March 5.

The Bruins went 4-0-0 during the week with Orlov leading the team in scoring, putting up three goals and six assists for nine points in four games.
Orlov started the week with a two-assist effort against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday, February 27, en route to the team's 3-2 victory. The 5-foot-11, 214-pound defenseman then put up back-to-back three-point performances, posting two goals and one assist against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, February 28 and then one goal and two assists against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, March 2. He finished the week with an assist against the New York Rangers on Sunday, March 5.
The Novokuznetsk, Russia native was acquired by Boston on February 25 in a three-team trade. In 48 games this season with Washington and Boston, Orlov has totaled six goals and 22 assists for 28 points.
