Beecher Growing with Michigan

John Beecher, drafted 30th overall by the Bruins in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, had a nice weekend with the University of Michigan. The Wolverines played two games against rival Michigan State University, with U of M sweeping the weekend series. Beecher netted two goals on the weekend, one on Friday and another on Saturday.
On Friday, Beecher lined up on the right wing for an offensive zone faceoff at the left circle. After Michigan won the faceoff, Beecher positioned himself in front of the net before redirecting the puck off his skate into the back of the net for his eighth tally of the season.
Beecher continued his success with a highlight-reel goal on Saturday night. After collecting the puck in his own zone, Beecher skated through all three zones while maintaining possession. After streaking up the left boards, Beecher made a nice move into the slot before making a move to his backhand. After he couldn't get a quality shot on goal, Beecher circled back into the high slot before firing a wrist shot into the top right corner for an unassisted goal.
The freshman has impressed this season, scoring nine goals which is tied for second on the team. His 16 points are also tied for fourth most on the Wolverines.
