"No, I don't think he's [out for] a while," said Cassidy. "We listed him as day-to-day, he's still on the trip. I think if it was anything long-term, he would've gone home by now. Will he be ready Sunday? I guess when we get on the ice Saturday, if he's out there, we'll be able to give you a better idea then. But that's where he's at now."
Defenseman Hampus Lindholm, who exited Tuesday night's loss to Detroit with a lower-body injury, also sat out Thursday's practice session, though Cassidy did not rule out the blue liner for the B's tilt against Tampa.
"[The medical staff was] hoping to get him on the ice today, didn't work out that way," said Cassidy. "I know he did off-ice [training]. I won't rule him out yet."
In positive injury news, Trent Frederic returned to the ice after sitting out the B's loss to Detroit with an upper-body injury he suffered on Monday night in Columbus. The winger was back in his normal left-wing spot alongside Charlie Coyle and Craig Smith.
With Frederic back, Cassidy once again shifted some pieces around up front, reuniting the Coyle line and the fourth trio of Nick Foligno, Tomas Nosek, and Curtis Lazar. Marc McLaughlin, meanwhile, was bumped up to fill Pastrnak's spot on the second line with Taylor Hall and Erik Haula.
"We might give him a look. Wanted to see how it looked today," said Cassidy. "He's definitely a guy that can shoot the puck. Looks like he's made some small area plays. Playing with that line, there is some of that involved. He can keep up. Give them a little bit of a net-front presence as well.
"We used Nose there the other day; I wanted to keep that line together with [Jack] Studnicka because they've been practicing together, but now that Freddy's back in, that moves some people to their normal spots. Laser will go back in.
"That's the obvious hole we have with Pasta, so we'll give Marc a look there."
